What does SEO do?

Low-Cost Organic Audience

One of the most powerful results of SEO is a low-cost, organic audience who visits your site because they’re interested in what you have to say or offer.

This is in contrast to other forms of marketing where you have to pay for each visitor, such as through PPC advertising.

The fact that it’s 100% organic also means that you’re building an audience of people who are genuinely interested in your content, which can lead to better engagement and conversions.

Improved Rankings in Search Engines

Another benefit of SEO is improved rankings in search engines.

By optimizing your site for the right keywords, you can increase your chances of appearing in the top results for relevant searches.

This can lead to more traffic and higher visibility for your site.

However, most people assume that throwing a keyword or two onto a post is enough to rank.

Unfortunately, it’s not.

There’s a lot more to SEO than just keyword placement!

Increased Brand Awareness

SEO increases brand awareness for your business.

If you’re ranking high in search results, people are more likely to see your brand and become familiar with it.

With keyword clusters and content silos, you can repeatedly put yourself on the radar of your ideal customer. This will build brand awareness, then your excellent content can build trust and ongoing loyalty.

Review from SCD about Nina Clapperton's seo coaching services

Drives Continuous Traffic

Unlike PPC advertising, which only drives traffic while you’re actively paying for it or social media marketing, which requires constant posting to stay on trend; SEO can continue to drive traffic long after the initial work is done.

This is because once your site is ranking high in search results, it will continue to do so as long as you maintain your rankings.

This means that SEO can provide a long-term, continuous stream of traffic to your site.

Passive Revenue Stream

If you have a product or service to sell, SEO can help you generate leads and sales on autopilot.

By ranking high in search results and driving targeted traffic to your site, you can create a passive revenue stream that will continue to grow as your business does.

This works for affiliate revenue, selling physical products, marketing your services, or even selling digital products.

In fact, I’ve done all of the above with SEO!

People First, Not Search Engines

One of the biggest mistakes I see businesses make is that they focus on the search engines first, rather than their audience.

This results in keyword-stuffed content that doesn’t provide any value to the reader.

With good SEO, you should focus on creating high-quality, informative, and engaging content that will appeal to your target audience.

The search engines will take care of themselves!

If you’re ready to improve your SEO and get better results for your business, contact me today to book a 1:1 session. I’ll help you take your SEO to the next level!

What is an SEO coach?

An SEO coach is someone who provides guidance and advice on how to improve your website’s search engine optimization.

This can include help with keyword research, on-page optimization, link building, and more.

A good SEO coach will also be up-to-date on the latest changes in the algorithm so that they can advise you on how to adapt your strategy.

They aren’t just someone who talks the talk. They should also be someone who walks the walk – with social proof to back up their claims.

(That’s why you’ll see screenshots of my Google Analytics and Search Console across this page and across my entire site. It’s also why I have real clients sharing their opinions on my services.)

Why do you need an SEO coach?

There are a lot of moving parts to SEO, and it can be difficult to keep track of everything – let alone actually implement the changes!

An SEO coach can help you develop and implement an effective strategy that will get results.

They can also provide guidance and support so that you can stay on track and make progress over time.

Unlike an SEO course, which will provide you with information but not necessarily help you take action; an SEO coach will work with you to ensure that you’re taking the right steps to improve your website’s ranking.

It’s kind of like having a private tutor instead of being in a class of 40 people. You’re getting 1:1 attention and have someone checking in to ensure you’re understanding/keeping up with the sessions.

Your SEO coaching sessions can even act as a deadline to ensure you are meeting goals.

If you’re serious about improving your SEO, then working with an SEO coach is the best way to achieve results.

Just like a business coach, fitness coach, or any other type of coach; an SEO coach will help you achieve your goals and reach your full potential.

What does an SEO coach do?

Direction

Your SEO coach provides direction on what you need to do to improve your website’s ranking in search engine results pages (SERPs).

This may include improving the quality of your content, optimizing your website for certain keywords, or fixing technical issues that are preventing your website from ranking well.

If you’ve felt lost or uncertain about how to improve your website’s ranking, an SEO coach can provide much-needed guidance.

Unlike courses that give general advice for any website, in my 1:1 SEO coaching, I tell clients exactly what they need to do – and what to skip.

Review from Michele DeBella about Nina Clapperton's seo coaching services

Actionable Advice

Your SEO coach doesn’t just tell you what you need to do to improve your website’s ranking; they also give you specific advice on how to do it.

This could involve teaching you how to use certain tools, showing you how to optimize your website for specific keywords, or demonstrating how to fix technical issues.

An SEO coach is a great resource if you need actionable advice on how to improve your website’s ranking.

I don’t believe in generalities. I believe in step-by-step instructions on things you can do – AND how to do them – today.

Accountability

Your SEO coach holds you accountable for making progress on your website’s ranking. This means setting goals and deadlines and checking in with you regularly to ensure that you’re making progress.

If you need someone to help you stay on track and accountable, an SEO coach is a great option.

I’m a very deadline-oriented person, so I hold my coaching clients accountable to meeting their goals. This helps them to make progress and see results more quickly.

Experience

Your SEO coach should have significant experience in the field of SEO. This means they should have a deep understanding of how search engines work and how to optimize websites for ranking well.

They should also be up-to-date on the latest changes in the SEO world so that they can give you the most accurate and relevant advice.

As an SEO specialist and a blogger with multiple niche sites, I HAVE to stay up to date in the industry – both for my clients and for myself.

I’m constantly trawling Twitter, Youtube, podcasts, and Google updates for tips to help my clients – and my own websites – rank higher, attract more ideal audience members, and make more money.

This saves you the time of hunting down the information for yourself – and not knowing how to then implement what you learn.

Fresh Eyes & Ideas

Your SEO coach brings a fresh perspective to your website.

This means they can see things that you may have missed and offer new ideas on how to improve your website’s ranking.

A good SEO coach will also be able to provide suggestions on how to target new keywords, produce better content, or fix technical issues.

As an outsider looking in, I can quickly identify the areas where you need to make changes – and how to make those changes – to improve your website’s ranking.

I also have a network of other SEO specialists and bloggers that I can rely on for ideas, so you’re getting access to multiple brains when you work with me.

What to Look for in an SEO Coach:

Expertise

When you’re looking for an SEO coach, you want to make sure that they have significant experience in the field of SEO.

This means they should have a deep understanding of how search engines work and how to optimize websites for ranking well.

They should also be up-to-date on the latest changes in the SEO world so that they can give you the most accurate and relevant advice.

If your SEO coach has not built a website from scratch and grown it within the last 3 years, they’ll have a harder time relating to your struggles.

That’s why the best in the SEO community are constantly building niche sites on different topics – it’s why I have a portfolio of sites on the go at all times and using various techniques to test new strategies.

Review from Alison Watta about Nina Clapperton's seo coaching services

Social Proof

When you’re looking for an SEO coach, make sure to check out their social proof.

Do they have any testimonials from past clients?

Do they have a blog with helpful articles?

Do they share actual information about their stats or income?

Will they let you speak to past clients?

Are they willing to provide a case study or two that are recent?

Will they admit that they don’t know things?

The last may surprise you, but not all SEO is the same.

For example, I don’t do Youtube SEO or Pinterest SEO. They aren’t services I provide because they aren’t my area of expertise.

Anyone who claims they can do absolutely everything better have proof to back it up!

I’ve shelled out for coaches before who didn’t allow me to speak to clients or had no case studies to offer, but told me to “trust them”. Or they used testimonials from other small ticket offers.

It’s so important not to get scammed by that. I have and it sucks.

That’s why I’m always transparent with my clients and willing to share clear case studies and income reports.

Past Clients

Yes, some SEO coaches are new to the game and won’t have a massive roster of past clients.

I started SEO coaching in December 2021, but only do it part-time. So I don’t have 100s of clients – partially because I prefer to have 10 max that I can fully devote my time to.

Still, I have SEO training clients that can speak to my teaching and the benefits they received.

If your SEO coach has no past clients they can refer you to and no testimonials, they aren’t legitimate.

Review from Coralie Thornton about Nina Clapperton's seo coaching services

Teaching Style

We all learn differently.

So when you’re looking for an SEO coach, it’s important to find someone whose teaching style meshes well with your learning style.

Do you prefer written content? Videos? Podcasts? One-on-one calls? Group coaching calls?

Some coaches only offer one format, while others (like myself) offer a few different formats.

I have an SEO training course, which is perfect for those who like to learn at their own pace and prefer written content.

I also offer 1-on-1 coaching calls and group coaching calls for those who want more personalized attention or want to be held accountable.

I’m a very dynamic person, so I use legitimately every medium under the sun, and can easily adjust to my students’ prefered methods.

Whatever your preferred learning style is, make sure your SEO coach can accommodate that.

Integrity

This is non-negotiable.

Your SEO coach MUST have integrity.

What does that mean, exactly?

Well, they should never make claims they can’t back up with evidence.

They should always be honest about their skills and what they can do for you.

And they should always have your best interests at heart.

If your SEO coach is pushy, uses high-pressure tactics, or is constantly trying to upsell you on things you don’t need, they are not operating with integrity.

I’ve had students who come to me after working with another coach and it’s heartbreaking.

They feel defeated, like they’ll never be able to make money online.

I’ve had to spend a lot of time rebuilding their confidence and showing them that not all coaches are created equal.

Review from Anna of Stuck on the Go about Nina Clapperton's seo coaching services

Communication

The communication style of your SEO coach is important, too.

Do they answer your questions in a way that you can understand?

Do they use industry jargon that goes over your head?

Do they make an effort to build a rapport with you?

Your SEO coach should be able to explain things in a way that makes sense to you and builds your confidence – not tears it down.

I always make a point to be super clear in my explanations and use as little jargon as possible. I want my students to feel like they can understand me and that I’m approachable.

Clear Pricing

Last but not least, your SEO coach should have clear pricing.

There shouldn’t be any hidden fees or upsells.

You should know exactly what you’re getting for your money and there should be no surprises.

I offer my SEO course and my SEO 1:1 coaching. I’m always very clear about my price (you can scroll down to the prices section here to see them laid out plainly!). And I NEVER want a student to have come to me surprised about costs.

Even when I recommend a product, I never recommend something I don’t truly love and use constantly. If it’s an affiliate link, I’m very up front and never pressure a student to book through my link.

I understand SEO coaching can be out of some people’s budgets. So when you save up for it, I want to ensure that my clients can anticipate exactly what their invoice will be.

Only bad coaches will surprise you with higher rates or pressure you into buying $200 microphones you have no need for (trust me, I’ve been there!).

Should I Hire an SEO Coach, Take a Course, or Hire a Freelancer?

You should hire a freelancer if…

If you just need someone to do the work for you and don’t want to learn anything about SEO, then a freelancer is probably a good option.

However, I would still be very careful when hiring a freelancer. Make sure they have integrity (as mentioned above) and that you understand what tasks you’re paying them to complete.

I’ve heard too many horror stories of people who have paid a freelancer to “optimize their website” only to find out they just changed a few titles and added some keywords to the homepage.

It happened to me when I hired someone to clean up my website coding and suddenly I had a $1,000 invoice for them just adding two plugins to my site.

So even if you’re hiring someone else to do the work, make sure you’re still getting what you’re paying for!

It’s a good idea to have at least a basic understanding of SEO to be able to double-check their work.

You should take an SEO training course if…

If you want to learn about SEO and how to implement it on your website, but don’t feel confident enough to tackle it on your own right now – an SEO training course is a great option.

I teach my students everything they need to know about SEO in my SEO Roadmap course so they can confidently make changes on their websites and see results.

However, this is a DIY option where you have to decide what changes are right for your website and what aren’t.

You should work with an SEO coach if…

If you want to learn about SEO, but also want someone to guide you through the process and hold your hand along the way – then an SEO coach is probably a great option for you.

As your coach, I’ll give you specific changes to make on your website that will help improve your rankings.

I’ll also spend time getting to know your business and your goals so I can help you strategize the best way to use SEO to grow your business.

If you want someone to be in your corner, cheering you on and helping you every step of the way – then an SEO coach is the right option for you.

Google analytics showing May 2022 50k sessions

Why Work with Nina?

I’m Nina, an SEO specialist and 6-figure blogger.

I grew my travel blog, Nina Out and About, to 54k sessions in 6 months from December 2021 to May 2022 using only SEO.

Before that, I spent two years working as an SEO specialist and SEO writer on a variety of niche websites, including in the legal, travel, plumbing, architecture, insurance, beauty, and lifestyle niches.

I now own a portfolio of growing niche sites in different fields that I use to continually test SEO strategies, stay up to date on keywords in different fields, and because I genuinely LOVE SEO – seriously I even talk about Google Analytics in my therapy sessions.

Unlike other SEO coaches that have been doing this for decades and make all their money from selling services, I still prioritize my passive income from my blogs.

I make 6-figures from my travel blog alone.

mediavine july 2022 earnings
Mediavine ad revenue from my first full month with the company.

For example, here’s an income report from July 2022:

  • $1,775.56 from Mediavine ad income
  • $6,454.05 from email affiliates and sponsored content
  • $2,095.40 from affiliates on my site

That’s $10,325.01 USD in one month.

(In January 2023, I made over $31k USD from two of my blogs – one contributed only $150!)

That doesn’t include the money I made from the launch of my SEO Roadmap course, blogging affiliates, or affiliate revenue from my other niche sites.

And I wasn’t making this last year in July 2021 (legit, I made $0.36 in affiliate income and $200-ish in ad income).

I’ve learned how to scale quickly – and did so while working 4 jobs (2 full time!) all at once.

And I want to teach you how to do the same!

Prices

My coaching services are $597/hour USD. [CURRENTLY CLOSED]

Or I offer a 3 month package for $2,500 that includes: 4 1hr calls, a mini blog audit, 25 keywords, and a 1 year plan for monetization success.

I recommend starting with the 3 monthy package, spreading out your calls monthly to set your business goals, and work towards them with SEO lessons and prolonged goal setting.

If you have an existing blog and want to do a 1 hour session, it is highly recommended that you also purchase a blog audit.

Starting at $800, and an additional $150/hour for additional work (I’ll explain what this means in a moment), I will conduct a full analysis of your blog.

This includes an in-depth look at your site’s structure, design, content, and more to identify areas that need improvement.

After the audit is complete, we’ll schedule a 1:1 call to go over my findings and recommend a plan of action for moving forward.

If you’d like me to implement changes for you, we can discuss that as well.

Additional work is charged hourly because the amount of time needed will vary depending on the size and complexity of your site.

Additionally, if you would like me to review all of your blog posts, additional pages, etc. in-depth, this will fall under the hourly rate.

If you’re interested in working with me, contact me today and we can start your coaching journey.

I look forward to helping you achieve your blogging goals!

Now, these are some pricing qs I get a lot:

Why Does It Cost So Much?

Why Does It Cost So Little?

Yep – I get asked both those questions all the time.

Other SEO coaches start at $1k per month. So I’m actually on the low end of the spectrum.

I do this because:

  1. I’m building a base of clients as I’m a newer name in SEO, but growing quickly
  2. This isn’t my primary method of income, I just genuinely want to help bloggers gain financial freedom
  3. I don’t want anyone to mortgage a house or only eat ramen to work with me
  4. But my services are extremely valuable, so I am going to price them as such. I value my time and want to work with clients who will put in the work and be invested in their own future. Investing financially is a part of that journey
  5. I have multiple degrees in marketing, writing, and SEO
  6. I have spent over $15k in 2022 alone on courses to advance my knowledge of SEO, blogging, and affiliate marketing, which I pass the value of onto my clients

If you can’t afford my services, I understand.

But please respect my time and experience.

Do not email me asking for discounts.

If you are ready to take your SEO to the next level, contact me today!

FAQs:

I’m a beginner blogger. Is SEO coaching right for me?

If you’re a beginner blogger, I recommend my SEO Roadmap course instead of 1:1 coaching.

It’s a self-paced course that will teach you everything you need to know about SEO so you can start implementing it on your blog right away.

We can do 1:1 coaching right away, but it’s likely to involve a lot of basic steps that you could set up yourself for a lower total cost with my self-paced course.

For example, covering what a keyword is or how to use Keysearch.

I’m happy to work with bloggers of any experience level – and have many times before – but I also want you to get the most value for your money.

If you know you work best 1:1 with someone telling you exactly what to do, then there’s no reason to take the middle step of a course.

Feel free to email me to discuss this more!

I’m an advanced blogger. Is SEO coaching right for me?

Yes! I work with advanced bloggers all the time.

We can dive right into more complex topics like Google Analytics, siloing, keyword research strategies for undercover keywords, and more.

I can help you scale from 30k sessions to 80k sessions in as little as six months. And go from $2k monthly income to $10k+!

I also offer blog audits for existing blogs. This is an in-depth analysis of your site’s structure, design, content, and more to identify areas that need improvement.

After the audit is complete, we’ll schedule a 1:1 call to go over my findings and recommend a plan of action for moving forward.

If you’re interested in working with me, email me today

That’s expensive! How do I know it’s worth it?

I get it – SEO coaching is a lot of money. But it’s an investment in your future and the long-term success of your blog.

Here are a few things to keep in mind:

1) The average return on investment (ROI) for SEO is 5X

In other words, for every $1 you spend on SEO, you can expect to see $5 in return.

This is a conservative estimate – in some industries, the ROI is as high as 10X!

2) It’s cheaper than paid advertising

If you’re used to spending money on Facebook ads or Google AdWords, then you know that those can get expensive quickly.

The great thing about SEO is that it’s free! Once you’ve invested the time and effort into ranking in Google, you’ll get organic traffic to your site for months or even years to come.

3) It’s an investment in your future

If you’re serious about blogging and want to make a full-time income from it, then you need to invest in your future.

SEO coaching is an investment in yourself and your blog. It’s the best way to guarantee long-term success.

If you want to know if working with ME is worth it, take a look at the client testimonials above or check out some of my case studies.

Feel free to send me an email and I can also put you in touch with past clients, or answer any questions you may have.

Will this make me $10k a month from my blog?

No, this is not a magic “buy it and you’ll suddenly make $10k monthly” patch.

Those don’t exist.

What this can do is give you the tools and strategies to grow your blog to making $10k per month and beyond via SEO.

BUT that requires dedication, tenacity, and hard work on your part.

Working with me isn’t easy peasy. You will be working hard to get these results.

Otherwise, you won’t be able to achieve your goals.

So yes, this will set you up to make $10k monthly from your blog.

But I don’t guarantee results: that’s on you and the effort your put in.

If you follow my strategies, I know you can make 6-figures annually blogging.

How long do I need SEO coaching for?

This really varies from person to person.

For some, one month is enough to get them started on the right track. That’s basically an audit and a quick call.

Others prefer to work with me for 3-6 months so that we can implement a long-term SEO strategy for their blog. This is what I recommend for almost everyone I work with – as people tend to go off the rails or procrastinate their goals if they just do one month.

And still, others like to stay on as an ongoing monthly coaching client. This is great for people who want to be held accountable and stay on top of their SEO strategy.

It really depends on you, your blog, and your goals. But I’m confident that we can work together to come up with a plan that works best for you.

That’s why I don’t lock clients into a certain number of months. I want to be flexible for YOUR needs – not growing my bank account.

Contact me today to discuss your timeline.

What is the difference between SEO coaches and consultants?

There is a big difference between an SEO coach and an SEO consultant.

An SEO coach is someone who will teach you how to do SEO yourself. They’ll give you the tools and strategies you need to grow your blog’s traffic.

An SEO consultant, on the other hand, is someone who will do the work for you. They’ll implement an SEO strategy on your behalf.

I am primarily an SEO coach, not a consultant. I will teach you how to do SEO for your blog so that you can grow your traffic long-term.

If you’re looking for someone to do the work for you, I do offer done-for-you services. Email me to discuss keyword research, SEO optimized outlines, and internal linking frameworks.

I do not do backlink outreach sourcing or SEO writing – but I have a roster of excellent SEO writers I can recommend (who I have personally vetted).

Who is this for?

My SEO coaching is perfect for online business owners and bloggers looking to scale their SEO strategy for ongoing, organic income.

If you answer yes to these, my services are right for you:

  • I want 1:1 SEO guidance that is customized to my goals
  • I want to put in the work and be held accountable to hit monthly targets
  • I am coachable
  • I am willing to learn
  • I understand SEO isn’t a quick return – it can take 6 to 12 months to see the fruits of my labour
  • I am open to listening and hearing critiques

If yes, email me to get started!

Who is this NOT for?

This is NOT for you if:

  • You want a quick fix or a magic pill
  • You aren’t willing to put in the work – in fact, you want to hire someone to do it for you
  • You expect overnight results
  • You want to implement black hat SEO or scammy shortcuts
  • You don’t want to be held accountable
  • You’re not coachable or open to hearing critiques
  • Your site has been blacklisted for spammy content
  • You have no drive to succeed in your business

Will you do my SEO for me?

Yes and no.

No, I will not do all of the work for you.

But I will guide you on how to apply every strategy we discuss.

I do offer packages of done-for-you keyword research and outlines, as well as helping with some fixes after blog audits as I also do work as an SEO consultant.

However, that is for an additional charge beyond my SEO coaching services.

Please email me to discuss these further.
